THE COUNT DOWN HAS BEGUN!
2011 Is around the corner and what a fantastic year it was. For cars as well. A look back at the year and we realize that the future for motoring is actually getting brighter even tho the earth is getting hotter. The speeds we know today will be walking pace compared to the speeds we will know in the future. Assuming that the Hydrogen-fuel-cell takes over.
What a blessed year we have had! 2010 Feel it, Its gone.
We will have our car of the year award as soon as we finally agree on what was the best car of 2010. Till then we wish you a very happy new year!

The ultimate driving machine.
Now many of us always wonder what is the perfect car to have. Well we have also thought long and hard about that and can gladly tell you what we think is the, ultimate driving machine.
The answer is so easily justified just by the manufacturer name... Yes its a Ferrari. Not just any old prancing horse. The Ferrari F430.
It does everything better then everything else. Its that simple. Now you might be wondering how on earth could we buy one. Since we stay in South Africa and not Europe it could be difficult and pricey. Which it is. After a long look the only TRUSTED way I found in getting the F430 is through a dealer. In Cape Town. The dealer is called, Viglietti, and they are the only importers of Ferrari's to Southern Africa.
At the moment there are no new F430's for sale in S.A. So that must be disappointing, but not really because there is ONE second hand F430 spider in PERFECT condition.
This car is Ferrari approved so you know its basically brand spanking new!
Its done 12,561 km
It is Convertible
Price: Are you sure you want to know??? Well uhmm... R2 499 000.00.
Yeah that price also crushed my dreams. But we still think that it is the best driving machine ever.

More future sneak peaks
Here are more 2011/2012 cars to look forward to. We had to post something and since everything is quite we thought we would look to the future.
The new Ford Ranger. We are glad to see Ford has stoped making there Bakkies look like bugs. |
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. A concept that we have loved to see grow into a real car! My they grow so fast. |
Lexus's brand new and only super-car ever. And what a good job at first try. |
GTI - no not Golf. The new Polo GTI. We in S.A love this little flea. Can't wait for that. |
Last but not least. Alfa Romeo Giulietta. A beauty that has one hell of a punch. |
Is it true love
Guys. I have given this much thought. Too much thought then I would've liked. The Alfa MiTo is truly fantastic and has captured every ounce of my heart and soul.
I love it to bits! It really makes me feel fantastic. Picturing myself driving it makes me truly happy. Happier then what my car today does. So I have decided that I am going to buy one. The top banana one with the four leaf clover. Its a choice that I have made with my heart rather then my brain. The VW Polo is very much cheaper and I'm sure can do the same. But I have fallen for the MiTo.
I want a red one with polished chrome finishing.

Four-doors can be exciting!
At Myhem race track this weekend was a fireworks night. Although it stormed and the track was so wet that the racing cars crashed, we did see some fantastic-ness. Two E-65 AMG Mercs came on the track when all was dry. With the skilled drivers showed us that a four-door car that has air-con, power-steering, airbags and all the toys you want in a comfortable car. Can be more exciting then a whole approaching thunder storm. Everyone stayed even though the rain came down hard in hopes to see more side ways action from the big Mercs.
This is where I usually end after telling a story. Well this time I have a video that shows these Mercedes-Benz's ability to excite a entire crowed.
The video was taken by phone so don't expect HD stuff here.

Does Audi really want to save the world?
This is an e-mail that Audi has sent me. All the talk of less carbon foot prints is making me worry. Does Audi really want to save the world?? Makes you think because there super-car the R8 does use the least amount of fuel then any other Super-car out there...

Two new cars for 2011, quite exciting!
The Aston Martin Vantage has now lost its roof and become a roadster! WOW I I think this is so fantastic that I think the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione now has a big problem at being the most gorgeous car around.
And now for the sensible new car coming in 2011 or a bit later on. The new Opel Corsa.
And now for the sensible new car coming in 2011 or a bit later on. The new Opel Corsa.
Now I know it has a Vauxhall badge on it. For those who don't know, Vauxhall is sold in S.A as an Opel.
Now we can clearly see it's a Corsa because it just had a face lift, but. We think the new model is better looking by far and it looks more up class. Definitely a competitor for the VW Polo. We can't wait and as a bonus Opel do that OPC thing, which will make it better and faster then any Polo will ever hope to be.
Look out for these models in 2011. We will keep you updated as soon as they arrive.

Think again, True Luxury, Jag's new XJ
In todays world, a place where the economic disaster had a substantial effect on our pocket money. Yes with out a single doubt I know that everyone felt the credit crunch. Thus when it all went away, we were left with our habits of being cheap. Many companies saw this as an opportunity and became quite rich by selling there cheap merchandise. Well happily the credit crunch is now over and we all should start burning our money away because lets face it. Smoking a massive roll of cold hard cash brings you a lot more joy then saving it in your shoes.
So to my point, you see the cheap market is still selling well and thats because the claim to be as good as the real deal. For example, Hisense claims there TV's are better then SONY, when they just aren't.
Now I saw the other day that Hyundai are selling there car as the most luxuriest car in the world. There bold claim of, "think luxury, think Hyundai."
Now i'm sorry. They are the last car manufacturer I think of when I think luxury. When I think of small cheap car for my son to drive and crash a few times without it costing me my house, I think Hyundai.
To show you real luxury in a car, I'v got some pictures of Jaguar's latest XJ model.

Its all quite fancy which its meant to be. Not only does it have a fantastic interior, It has one of the best engines ever made. You can have the 5.0 supercharged V8. Top spec which has 375kW and a 0-100km/h time of 4.9 sec. So its not only luxuries but completely fast for a four-door sedan. If you want the real deal in luxury and not a flee market special then this is one of the best. The Jaguar XJ.

Another Bugatti Veyron Crashed
Why do we like to see this?? Well it makes our problems seem like nothing when we see a R 11 219 868.00 car that someone has crashed on his own. This Bugatti Veyron went into a hedge when the driver lost control on a long curve.
The driver must have no teeth left after beating himself up for crashing the most expensive toy anyone can buy.
Well I don't mean anyone do I? I mean only the owners of banks can buy.

A look back
I took a look back at my photo albums and came across when I attended the Top Gear MPH show. In the video is a man who spins a Chevy Lumina SS and drifts around the trees. I think it was just way too cool.
Just thought you would like it.

The Best present for your kids for Christmas. Gran Turismo 5
For those that have the PS3 then you must get the ultimate car game of all time. Gran Turismo 5 is out at all the leading retail stores and costs roughly R699.00.
If you go to Reggies you can buy a 320gig Play Station 3 with Gran Turismo 5 for only R3 699.00. That I think is the best present for any man, not just kids.

A bit of sense... Or is it? Honda CR-Z
This is the new Honda CR-Z, now I was privileged to actually go threw the in's and out's at a motor show. The first thing a noticed was the styling. Now Honda say it was designed around a "one-motion-wedge". Thats not what I thought. I seemed to see an Audi face and Audi lights. The back was completely ugly and further more it seemed very similar to a Citreon C4. So basically the car was designed round other cars.
See what I mean. |
Now this car must have a party peace except the fact that it is a Hybrid. Something cool that will make me happy, there was. The interior was amazing! The seats are fantastic except you wont get anyone into the back. The Speedometer was so cool with its 3D effects. It started to look up for the tiny car. When I say tiny I mean pea size.
The man told me that the Electric engine acts like a turbo to the petrol engine when you give it the beans. Sadly it just doesn't. 0-100km/h takes 10sec. 10! That is unbelievably slow.
To sum it up. It costs R299 900.00 Which is steep. What I can't figure out is why Honda have wasted their money on this car because they have the Clarity. The Clarity is the first everyday Hydrogen Fuel Cell car that works. That is the future of every thing. Hybrids and Electric cars are not even going to make a big impact. The Clarity will.
If you are looking for a small car that makes sense to buy, one that is light on fuel and sexy in design. A car that won't take 10 sec to 100km/h. A car in the same price range as the CR-Z. Then get the Alfa Romeo MiTo.
